I have been watching the Play by Play video series on Pluralsight, where well known programmers complete small coding challenges. It's a great glimpse into the thinking process of great programmers.
- Famous programmers look up documentation. Yes, even Aaron Patterson has to look up the Rails docs.
- Famous programmers have to stop and think about problems, and sometimes they get stuck too. They don't always get it right the first time.
Famous programmers don't magically write perfect code. What makes them great is how they persevere through challenges.
When you app refuses to boot, or when you're wondering why the code worked yesterday, it's worth remembering that everybody struggles too. You're not the only one. You've got this!
