I'm not being facetious. This is quite hard to do.
When someone challenges me on a technical matter, I feel tempted to instantly say "no", dismiss the idea, and launch into a counter-argument.
Maybe this is truly is the dumbest technical idea I have ever heard. Of course, I am right all of the time and I know everything. Even so, if I don't stop to listen and think for one second, what does that say about me?
